A list of travel tools I personally use to plan trips, book plane tickets, hotels and check the status of flights
Websites to help you find domestic and international flights for purchase.
| Google Flights | An all around good flight search tool. This is almost always my first stop when looking for a flight. |
| Trip.com | Decent especially when you want to bundle several disconnected flights together on a single itinerary (sort of). Also offers cheap domestic flights in Thailand and elsewhere in Asia through AirAsia, NokAir, Vietjet, etc. Easy to use mobile app. |
| SkyScanner | Another decent flight search engine I use on a regular basis to compare prices. Although I have found that the cheapest tickets have to be purchased from relatively unknown Online Travel Agents, which can be risky. |
Websites to help you plan trips by viewing complicated routes and itineraries.
| ITA Flight Matrix | An incredibly powerful tool to build flight itineraries. For research only. You cannot purchase tickets here directly. |
| Flight Connections | Shows all routes from every airport. |
| FlightsFrom.com | Shows all scheduled flights from every airport. |
| Flight Aware | Track the status of flights in the air and show scheduled departures. Great for tracking a friend or family member's flight. |
| Seat Guru | Very useful tool for viewing the seat layout of different planes. |
Websites to help you find and purchase hotels, hostels and other accommodation while traveling.
| Agoda | Has a wide range of hotels in Asia and often the best prices if you can catch a sale. Watch out for the added fees and taxes though. |
| Booking.com | A good catch-all hotel booking site. |
| Trip.com | Decent hotel search engine, especially around Asia. |
| 12Go | Trains, Buses and Ferries in Asia/Thailand |
| Rome2Rio | Helps find routes between destinations via plane, train, bus or car. |
